Marathon  NEW COURSE IN 2020! We will have a new course in 2023! The race will start at the ConocoPhillips Soccer Stadium at Kincaid Park with a downhill to the Coastal Trail. The race will follow the Cook Inlet for 10 miles to West Chester Lagoon. The race will travel along the Chester Creek Trail to Goose Lake and by the ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building on the Univeristy of Alaska Anchorage campus. The race will travel through the Far North Bicentennial Park before returning along Campbell Creek to Westchester Lagoon and the finish at the Park Strip. The race is run on pedestrian path until the final half mile. The race is certified by USA Track and Field and is recognized by the Boston Marathon as a qualifying event. The race start is at 7:30 a.m. All participants must finish the race by 3:00 p.m.   Marathon Relay   This four member team event will cover the same course as the individual marathon (with much less effort). Team runners can only run in one leg of the event. Relay exchanges are at the aid stations located at Mile 6.3, Mile 13, and Mile 22. There are six divisions to choose from: Corporate, School Age (junior & senior), Military Service, Open Men, Open Women & Open Mixed. Note: relay participants are responsible for their own transportation to the exchange points. Exchange Zone One (from Kincaid Park start) Travel west on Northern Lights Boulevard and turn left on Postmark Drive. Parking is available on the should of Postmark Drive. The exchange zone is at the mile 6.3 aid station. Exchange Zone Two (from exchange zone one) Travel east on Northern Lights Boulevard. Turn right onto UAA Drive and then a quick left on Goose Lake Park Road.   Exchange Zone Three (from exchange zone two) Exchange zone three is located just north of exchange zone two on the pedestrian path.   Finish Line at Delaney Park Strip (from exchange zone three) Travel west on Northern Lights Boulevard and take a right to head north on C Street. Take a left to head West on 10th Ave. The finish is at the common finish line for all events which is the west end of the Delaney Park Strip, between 9th and 10th avenue. Parking is in neighorhoods on 11th or 12th or past the Park Strip on 8th.
