UPDATE - Anchorage Mayor’s Marathon and COVID-19

The Anchorage Mayor's Marathon promotes a healthy community. Each Summer Solstice we bring hundreds of people together from our community, nearly every state in the union, and countries around the globe.

After careful deliberation by the hosts of the Anchorage Mayor's Marathon - the Municipality of Anchorage Parks & Recreation Department and the University of Alaska Anchorage Athletics Department, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Anchorage Mayor's Marathon. Paramount in this decision was keeping participants, volunteers, partners, spectators, and the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, and not detracting valuable resources away from our local health systems.

This is not the news that we hoped to share, but we have some great things in store for the future and we look forward to keeping our momentum going as we unveil the new marathon course on June 19, 2021.

Remain safe, healthy and strong, and we look forward to seeing you on June 19, 2021 as we celebrate the Anchorage Mayor's Marathon & Half-Marathon presented by ConocoPhillips Alaska!
